You can begin learning to drive in the UK at 17. You can apply for your provisional driving licence from 15 years and 9 months, so you can get everything ready in advance.

Yes, you must have a valid provisional driving licence to take driving lessons. You can apply for one online through the GOV.UK website.

Lessons are 1.5 or 2 hours long. If you’re learning regularly, a 10-hour block booking is the most cost-effective option.

Plans change. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give at least 24 hours’ notice to avoid a cancellation fee.

It varies for every learner, depending on experience and confidence. On average, most people need between 20 and 40 lessons to be fully prepared. Callum will make sure you’re ready when the time comes.

Lessons are in a manual car. Every tuition car is fitted with dual controls, fully roadworthy, taxed, MOT’d and insured for driving instruction.

You’ll agree the location for each lesson with Callum when you book. New pupils share a pick-up address when they enquire.

Your driving licence (provisional or full), plus any glasses or contact lenses you need to drive.

Usually, yes. Callum generally lets pupils use his car for their practical test once he’s happy you’re ready.

Existing pupils can pay securely online on the Pay for a Lesson page, which links to your Total Drive account.

Callum’s pass rate is worked out from his own lesson records: the number of practical driving tests passed by Drive With Callum pupils, divided by the total number of practical tests his pupils have taken since Drive With Callum started, counting every attempt. It is reviewed and updated regularly. The Great Britain average quoted alongside it is the DVSA’s published car test pass rate for April 2025 to March 2026.

You’ll get an acknowledgement within 3 working days and a full response within 14 days, and a record of every complaint is kept. If your complaint is about the conduct of an Approved Driving Instructor you can also report it to the DVSA at gov.uk/complain-about-a-driving-instructor.
